Baltimore-Based Goodell DeVries Continues Growth in Philadelphia With Addition of New Partner Elizabeth Balakhani

Goodell DeVries is pleased to announce that A. Elizabeth Balakhani has joined the firm as a partner in Philadelphia.  Formerly of Dechert LLP, Ms. Balakhani’s practice focuses on complex litigation matters, with particular emphasis on defense of pharmaceutical, medical device and chemical companies in mass torts, product liability and class action litigation.  “Liz is an extremely talented attorney who brings a wealth of experience litigating product liability and mass tort cases” said Bob Limbacher, the managing partner of the firm’s Philadelphia office.  “The addition of Liz is a key part of our continued strategic growth in Philadelphia and in the pharmaceutical mass torts space.”
 

Ms. Balakhani has represented leading multinational companies in a wide range of complex litigation.  Most notably, she has served as trial counsel for Union Carbide Corporation, and represented Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Merck in high-profile pharmaceutical product liability cases nationwide.  Ms. Balakhani is a graduate of Temple University School of Law and was recently selected by The Legal Intelligencer as a Pennsylvania “Lawyer on the Fast Track.”
