Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Litigation

Our Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Litigation attorneys represent manufacturers and distributors of pharmaceutical agents and medical devices and products.  Our attorneys have served as local, regional, and national counsel defending product liability suits alleging serious personal injuries arising out of the use of prescription medications (such as diabetes medications, anti-reflux medications, neurological agents, hormone therapy, smoking cessation products, and antibiotics) and medical devices and products (such as intrauterine devices, mechanical heart valves, cardiac pacemakers and leads, cardiac stents, orthopedic products, latex gloves, silicone breast implants, penile implants, and dental amalgams and equipment).

The Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Litigation group has managed active dockets involving single suits, collections of individual lawsuits, class actions, and Multidistrict Litigations.  In addition to serving as lead trial counsel, our lawyers are routinely called upon to coordinate discovery plans, formulate medical and scientific defenses, develop experts, conduct Daubert hearings, and assist with strategic planning.  We have overseen the creation of document repositories and electronic databases to assist with the review, analysis and computerization of all documentation relevant to pending litigation, and have overseen e-discovery productions.

With offices located in Baltimore and Philadelphia, members of our Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Litigation group participate in “virtual law” practices with our clients and other defense counsel, ensuring coordinated defense efforts, streamlined operations, and cost containment.
